Backpack Program
Backpack Blessing is a back-to-school outreach program that helps churches provide backpacks filled with school supplies to students in need within their communities. It’s a simple and powerful way to show the love of Christ through practical support—ensuring kids start the school year confident, prepared, and encouraged
WHEN:
We recommend running the program in mid to late July, allowing enough time to collect donations, pack the backpacks, and distribute them before local schools begin
TIPS:
onnect with a local school counselor to identify real needs and coordinate distribution.
Let members “adopt a backpack” by giving financially or donating supplies.
Host a packing party or a Blessing Sunday where the church gathers to pray over the backpacks.
Include a handwritten encouragement note or scripture in each bag for a personal touch
REMEMBER:
This isn’t just about school supplies—it’s about equipping children with dignity, hope, and support. A backpack may seem small, but it can carry big encouragement.
Especially significant for low-income families and communities
Raises church profile
Teaches congregation to care
THEME:
“Blessed to Be a Blessing” – Reminding the church that generosity is contagious and our giving reflects God’s heart for the next generation.
